I met Erin and her mom last week for her Senior session. It was a hot and humid day, but Erin was patient and lovely. She is such a sweet young lady. We chatted about her recent prom and school. She talked about her swim team and how she will miss it after graduation. She is headed to Texas A&M in the fall…go Aggies!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Erin! Walk confidently and without fear into your future because the Lord is your helper (Hebrews 13:6).

Family, Monopoly and Silly String {family photographer | frisco, tx}

This family is beautiful inside and out! When they called me to schedule a family photo session, I suggested doing some fun lifestyle shots in addition to traditional family photos. They liked the idea so I met them at their home on a wonderful Sunday afternoon. After taking family photos outside, we moved inside for a quick game of Pokemon Monopoly which is their son’s favorite board game. The photo session ended with a fun Silly String fight! Their son commented that he liked the “fun” photos best

Daddy Daughter Dance 2012 {family photographer | prosper, tx}

My girls were so excited about the Daddy Daughter Dance this year! The day started with haircuts and up-dos at Sweet & Sassy, complete with glitter spray! Then I took them to lunch and shopping for new dresses and shoes. Their Easter dresses just weren’t going to cut it this year. They both wanted something new and “more fancy”. Now don’t get the wrong impression, they didn’t NEED to wear a fancy dress to go to this dance, that was just their idea. Savanna, our 6 year old, said “I want to look like a princess” and she added “Can I wear a crown too?” She even wished for a yellow dress and I was shocked when we actually found one! Sydney, our 9 year old, did NOT want to look like a princess and crowns aren’t her thing. She wanted to look grown up and as we were on our way home from our day of hair-dos and shopping she said in a very day dreamy voice “I can’t wait for prom.” It brought tears in my eyes because I know prom will be here way too soon. I painted their nails and put a little makeup on them and they were ready for their date with Daddy. I had about one minute to snap these photos because they were already late…typical girls! They had a fabulous time at the dance and came home very excited to share their night with me

Vow Renewal Ceremony {event photographer | frisco, tx}

While surrounded by family and friends, this sweet couple renewed their wedding vows exactly 10 years after their wedding date. The ceremony began as the couple’s rings were passed around the guest circle and each guest said a silent prayer of blessing. The bride was then escorted in by her son and joined her groom in the center of the circle. The couple tearfully exchanged the same vows they had exchanged 10 years earlier. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room as they promised to continue to love and support each other on their life journey. A few very special friends of the couple stood to share a few words and each blessed the couple with a prayer and a thoughtful gift. It was a wonderful celebration of love and I was honored to capture this special day for them.

How is this beautiful girl a senior already??!! I remember they day I first met Sacha and her family when they moved in next door to us. She was just 12 years old then. She started babysitting my girls shortly after they moved in. She would come over for a couple of hours once a week to be my ‘helper’. My girls were one and three at the time and I desperately needed help as I had no family in the state I could call on! She’s been my number one babysitter for 6 years now! She has watched my girls grow from babies to elementary kids while I have watched her grow from a preteen to a beautiful young woman. I honestly don’t know how those 6 years flew by so fast!

Gender Reveal Baby Shower {party photographer | frisco, tx}

I recently photographed a very special event for one of my favorite clients. It was an absolute joy to photograph their gender reveal baby shower! If you haven’t heard of this new baby shower trend, let me explain…the couple and their guests all find out the gender of the baby at the party. The gender is revealed in a fun creative way. In this case, the couple asked their doctor to place the ultrasound photo in a sealed envelope. The party hostess took the envelope to the Cake Stand in McKinney and requested a cake with either blue or pink filling depending on the gender. No one at the party knew the gender! The suspense and excitement in the room when the couple cut the cake was thrilling!! The big sisters were at the neighborhood park with a sitter during the reveal, but they were not left out. They had a special surprise too. The hostess arranged for a wrapped box filled with balloons of the appropriate color for the big sisters to open and find out if they are having a brother or sister! Saturday Pancakes {lifestyle photographer | frisco, tx}

Saturday mornings mean pancakes at our house. My husband started this tradition although I’m not sure when or how. It just happened and now we make pancakes every weekend in our pajamas. On this particular Saturday, our girls wanted to make the pancakes for us and they did a fantastic job! Chocolate chip pancakes are their favorite!

Does your family have a weekend tradition?
I remember when I was little my dad would take me to the nearest town (we lived in the country) to buy a Sunday paper and chocolate donuts. We would come home and eat the donuts together while I looked at the comics and my dad read the paper. Then we would go for a drive to look at his fields. He would let me sit on his lap and ‘drive’. Oh how I wish I had some photos of those special Sundays!
