This was my first family session which included the family pets! It was very entertaining. The antics of the dogs and trying to get a group photo with the dogs had me laughing the entire session!
Yellin Family – thanks for a fun afternoon, I hope you like the photos.

January 13th, 2012Family Traditions {family photographer | frisco, tx}
December 30th, 2011With the holiday rush, I just didn’t have a chance to blog these earlier. It is still December so I thought it wasn’t too late to blog them now
This year I wanted to keep Christmas simple…sort of…I mean our girls were still spoiled with way too many gifts, but I wanted to focus on some simple family traditions that will hopefully create some cherished memories for my kids.
Here’s the story behind the story (bare with me). We have a beautiful 12 or 14 foot prelit artificial Christmas tree that we have used for the past few years, but it is a pain to put up and decorate and I can get really controlling about how it is decorated. The ornaments must be evenly dispersed and only certain ornaments can be used. This craziness does not create a very fun Christmas-y environment for family tree decorating! I started thinking about how I wanted my kids to remember our family Christmas and the traditions that go with it and I realized that I did NOT want them to remember how stressed I was about our tree. I really wanted to get a live tree for the first time since I was a child, because I thought it would be fun and we could get a smaller, more manageable tree. So off we went the weekend after Thanksgiving to pick a tree. We all worked together to find the right tree…not too fat, not too skinny, not too tall, not too short. Once that perfect tree was in our home, we ALL worked together as a family to decorate it and I did NOT obsess over the details! I just let my kids have fun and I joined them!

December 21st, 2011Toothless Smiles Make Me Smile {child photographer | frisco, tx}
December 16th, 2011I don’t know why, but I love to see a child’s toothless smile. Maybe it’s because I have a toothless six year old girl myself. Whatever the reason, seeing a little one with a few missing teeth just makes me smile, so I had to share a couple of cute toothless photos from my last session. I’ve heard some parents say they want to wait for family photos until their little one has teeth again, but I completely disagree. This is an adorable stage of life that will never happen again…ok we might lose a few teeth in our golden years, but trust me it will not be cute then!
The Ruiz Family {family photography | frisco, tx}
December 12th, 2011A quick sneak peek from my session with the very sweet Ruiz family. This family did an awesome job with wardrobe styling for their session. They were coordinated without being too ‘matchy’ and I love that! They were also troopers during the session, braving the chilly weather and were up for anything. I am so glad that I got a few photos of mom and dad alone. The parents’ relationship is the beginning of this beautiful thing we call family and I think it is so important that parents remember and celebrate that!
Mr. Ruiz, you are one lucky man to be surrounded by four beautiful girls!
Savanna’s 6th Birthday {party photographer | frisco, tx}
November 9th, 2011I know we have all moved on from Halloween to Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I have a few fun photos that I had to share from my daughter’s recent costume party. I’ve said it before and if you read my blog, you will probably hear it every time I photograph a party…I LOVE PARTIES! I really do. I totally stress myself out in the planning process, but I love it! This year Savanna decided to have a costume party for her birthday which was a very fun idea. For the party activities, we decided to do a variety of games in the backyard. Of course I had to make it look festive, so my wonderful husband helped me make a canopy of streamers from the house to the back fence..which turned out great unfortunately you can only see a little of it in the photos below. The kids played bean bag toss, pumpkin golf, mummy wrap and freeze dance. We also had them pop balloons by sitting on them…so fun! Just before heading into the house for pizza and cake we lined the kids up and had them put their hands in 3 different buckets to find a prize…the buckets were full of icky feeling stuff like jello, wet noodles and peeled grapes. We didn’t blindfold them, so they figured out the contents pretty quickly, but it was still fun.
Thank you so much to all of Savanna’s friends for coming to celebrate with us! A special thank you to Savanna’s grandparents for all of their help and for dressing in costume! I have never in my life seen my parents in a Halloween costume, but they did it for Savanna which was awesome!! Also, thank you to my friend Cruz for always lending a hand at my parties!
Fastest Toddler in Texas {child photographer | frisco, tx}
November 2nd, 2011I recently had studio session with the fastest toddler in Texas
and his big brother.
Seriously, this little guy moves quick! My camera barely had a chance to focus before he was on the run again. His mom got a workout catching him and putting him back in place for me. He tired of me and my camera after a while and then it was big brother’s turn. Big brother wanted to show me his superhero pose (bottom left)…too cute!

October 31st, 20111st Birthday Party {party photographer | frisco, tx}
October 28th, 2011All birthdays are special, but there is something about the first birthday. The child doesn’t understand that it is his birthday and all the gifts, balloons and cake are for him, but I think that’s what makes it so special. The family and friends of the birthday child are truly there to celebrate the life of this precious little one. This first birthday was no different, the birthday boy seemed overwhelmed by everything and was happiest just sitting with his dad. However, someday he will look back at these pictures from is 1st birthday and hopefully be touched by all the family and friends there to celebrate him. That is what I loved most about this party. It was a honest celebration where entire families gathered for a traditional Indian meal and enjoyed visiting with with each other. The party entertainment started with balloon creations for each child at the party. Then everyone settled down for a fantastic magic show. The adults enjoyed the magic show just as much as the kids and I think that is awesome! I love parents who aren’t afraid to have fun at a party!
Thank you to this sweet family for allowing me to photograph this wonderful celebration for them!!
A Case of the Sillies {child photographer | frisco, tx}
October 21st, 2011It never fails, when I want to take a few photos of my oldest daughter she gets a case of the sillies. She’s eight so I’m guessing that has something to do with it. If you know an eight year old, you know what I’m talking about. She also gets embarrassed easily so the silliness is kind of how she deals with it. I just play along letting her be as silly as she wants. Although these silly photos probably won’t end up in a frame on the mantle they are still fun.
Then in between all the silliness, I get this. Perfect! A true representation of my little girl.
